Bottomless Beer: Design Award Shortlist:
Our antidote to Dry January and new business mailer was an idea where we sent three bottles of our own craft beer to prospective clients and when they drank those, they would get another 3, and then another and so on and so on. Our aim would to turn up to their offices with the beer and leave with a brief. It generated a number of leads and was shortlisted for awards - including the Design Week Awards 2019. Not bad for a 10 minute brainstorm in the pub.

10/19 Gas Safety Week: Carbon Monoxide:
With no money or budget we were asked to produce a piece of social content about the dangers of CO for Gas Safety Week. Two days later we put this up on British Gas' social channels.
10/19 British Gas: 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing:
A real step change for British Gas. We managed to convince the client that they should do more creatively engaging pieces to help change their brands perception. This was the first piece we did - a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing and what it would take today, to get us back there and live on the moon.
We created an interactive parallax website (built from scratch in-house) and teamed up with British astronauts, futurists and real-life rocket scientists to help collate the data.
12/19 BRITISH GAS HOMECARE VIDEOS:
How to turn really dry information into something relatively interesting. OK, they're not sexy but at least they're slightly more watchable than what they've done before. This is just one of about 10 short animations we've produced. I actually don't mind them and not every piece of work needs to be all-singing and dancing. Do the basics and do them well.

SPREADING CHRISTMAS CHEER, WITH A CHRISTMAS BEER
Help us celebrate a great year at Waste by raising a glass to our latest brew – a Christmas Pudding Porter with an extra special ingredient… a lucky 666pence.
Why a 666pence? Well, we were founded on the 6/6/2006, the beer is 6.66% and no Christmas pudding (beer or otherwise) would be complete without its lucky sixpence.
Each beer comes with its own scratch-off sixpence to reveal prizes.

Prizes include anything from 6 hours of free strategy or creative time, to a ‘Give a Knit’ kit with which winners can destress by knitting a teddy, which is then donated to children’s charity HIHFAD. Plus, the illustrious Waste hoodie or T-shirt and 3 more WPA beers are also up for grabs.

At Waste we wanted to re-design what a Christmas card is by sharing our creativity and hopefully inspiring some in others. We’ve been brewing our own beers for over 5 years so it’s about time we shared one with you.

07/20 DEAL WITH IT
Got a problem? Nobody around to ask because you're in lockdown? Fortunately, Dom Joly (Yes, the big phone guy from the 90s) is here to deal with any of the issues you're having.

'Deal With It' began life as a campaign before lockdown whereby a croupier would sit people down and help them solve their issues while playing poker. Literally as we were about to film, Covid struck and our campaign looked to be in tatters. A few weeks later and self-isolating, we tweaked the idea, got a comedian and a production company and shot a whole bunch of these. Using their social channels, we'd ask our followers for their conundrums and get dear old Dom, to deal with it. Here's a just a few of the 15 we did over the course of a month.
11/20 Hive HomeShield
In what feels like a very long time, it's a relief to finally release our Hive Homeshield project into the wild. Having gone through several name changes, copy changes, script changes, tech changes, app changes and client changes, this month it's finally gone live. A great team effort from everyone, especially my Art Director at the time, Darren.
Apart from the actual tech, we were tasked with everything from the launch film and app layout to the website copy and design, as well as all the social and display. This was definitely one of those projects that through it all has made us better people.
05 - 11/20 XBOX/HULU Mini games.
I've been working more with our in-house developers and designers to work on promotional games within the XBOX and Microsoft platforms for a range of different products and services. From Renault and Warner Brothers Movies (Top Gun 2, Wonder Woman 1984) to Pringles and the FDA (US Anti-vaping campaign), these free games, usually take the form of 8/16-bit formats, but the real fun in all this is creating our very own computer games.
